Jonathan Garnham is an artist and director of 'blank projects', an independent project space in Cape Town showcasing new art and artists.

He completed his MFA at the University of the Arts in Berlin after which he co-founded kunst+technik, an association of artists and architects working between the disciplines and in new media, who became famous for their exhibition space and bar that was only open when the date was dividable by six.

He relocated to South Africa in 2002 and subsequently held positions as Head of Department for Art and Design at The College of Cape Town and Head of Projects at The Cape Africa Platform (producing the contemporary African Art Biennale, CAPE07).

He is presently chairperson of the Western Cape branch of The Visual Arts Network (www.vansawesterncape.org) and continues to exhibit and carry out commissions in Europe and South Africa.
